MTO Sufi Society’s Zendeh Delan® Ensemble presented Sufi Music, Zekr and Sama for the first time in London at Sadler’s Wells. The event took place on Sunday 30th March 2014 and was comprised of a two hour programme depicting the spiritual dimensions of Sufism through a fusion of Persian and Western Classical Music, Zekr (chants) and the spiritual movements of Sama. Persian Classical Dance , Qajar dynasty style. It's a dance from Persian court of XVIII-XX century. It was performed by professional dancers-entertainters. It's way more rhythmic than the Miniature style. The dance performance usually contains a pantomimic acting , like applying make up.
The past few months Mazyar's been busy rehearsing for his part as the bartender in the play "7 Menu's" It was his first time acting live on stage and I went to their last performance. It really opened up my eyes to FARSI theatre. Definitely life changing!
